The Netherlands Pim Benus

In his early youth Pim Benus got fascinated by the visual possibilities of photography. Later on, educated and working as an architect, he used his photography for documentation and presentation. Since the 90s he turned back again to photography as an autonomous medium. He exhibited and took part in numerous exhibitions and art fairs in The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Italy, France and Spain.

Travelling and hiking through nature which he cuts out with his camera, those views and details which give him a kind of abstract emotion, perceiving a detail but feeling the whole landscape. It leads to intimate impressions, indefinite views, sometimes decorative details, without documenting the reality of the landscape. It is the fixed view, the cut-out and the light that causes the emotional, spiritual load and reflects the relation between him and nature.
